This Saugatuck style cable rail is located in Stamford, CT. For this project, the customer wished for stainless steel cable rail to be installed on a deck overlooking a steam. The Saugatuck style uses either cedar, mahogany, or ipe wood. Posts are 4"x4". The top rails consist of 2'x4" boards between the posts and a 2"x6" top rail. All of the fittings and cables are made from 316 stainless steel for superior rust resistance. The cable is 1/8" diameter, and the fittings have a low profile, clean finish. Thin stainless steel cable braces (1/4" X 1") were used to maximize post spacing to keep the river view open. The overall effect is a striking addition to this Stamford, CT homeowner's property.
